Environmental

Wallace-Kuhl's Environmental department began in 1986 with the formation of the Site Investigation and Remediation group. From this team, Wallace-Kuhl has developed an environmental department that performs all major services, as well as several specialized services. Our team specializes in the investigation of properties that formerly or currently support activities involving chemicals whose concentrations may pose a threat to human health or the environment. Our projects have included those of industrial and commercial; levees and dams; roadways and bridges; residential properties; proposed school sites; medical facilities; and agricultural production land and facilities, including farms, ranches, orchards, dairies, and wineries.

The combination of Wallace-Kuhl's premier environmental services record and UES national presence and resources elevates our team's environmental service offerings, geographic range, and skilled project team. UES' consulting staff includes professional geologists, environmental engineers, environmental scientists, biologists, industrial hygienists, and safety professionals with the focus of being a solution provider that can assist clients in managing their project liabilities and risks. Many of our technical consultants are cross-trained in the services that UES provides, which allows us to develop innovative and economical solutions for regulatory compliance in any industry. As a recognized regional leader in environmental consulting services, UES has the technical team to protect your assets and promote the sustainability of your business.

Environmental Site Assessments

Our team can perform assessment characterization and remediation studies for air, soil, gas, and groundwater contamination to disclose the presence of petroleum, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals, and other toxic compounds. Wallace-Kuhl produces comprehensive Phase I Environmental Site Assessment reports that exceed the minimum requirements of the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) E1527-13 and the US EPA’s All Appropriate Inquiry (AAI) standards. These reports identify environmental risk and mitigation measures that enable proposed development plans and project funding to proceed smoothly while helping clients reduce liability and complete due diligence requirements, including CERCLA’s innocent landowner, contiguous property owner, or bona fide prospective purchaser defense.

Our Environmental Site Assessment services include:

  • Risk Assessments and Mitigation Plans for Redevelopment Projects (Brownfields)
  • Human Health Risk Assessments
  • Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
  • Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
  • Business Environmental Risk Assessments
